KOREA VOLUNTEER CENTER
Lively Korea with every citizen being a volunteer
The 246 volunteer centers across the nation support volunteer activities, which are an essential pillar of Korean
society. Estab-lished in 2010 underthe Government Ministry of the Interior and Safety, the Korea Volunteer Center serves
as a key role in facilitating the efficient operation ofthis volunteer network.
In the same year, the 1365 Volunteer Portal System was built to provide a foundation for easy participation in volunteering activities. From 2016 to 2018, we spearheaded a paradigm shift in volunteerism by promoting the “Korea Volunteer Year” campaign, and organized initiatives such as the “Annyeong Campaign” to address social issues collaboratively. These led us to expand our civic engagement activities, including the establishment of a disaster site integrated volunteer system to respond to climate disasters.
In 2014, we launched the Volunteer Archive to systematically collect, record, and develop the history and achievements of volunteerism in Korea. Through this, we are providing new contents to the volunteer sector and enriching the culture of volunteerism.
Through these efforts, the Korea Volunteer Center continues to fulfill its role as a leading institution, providing steadfast support to the volunteer sector in Korea.
